The Mid Group has achieved Building Information Modelling (BIM) Level 2 accreditation following the UK Government’s mandate in early April.
Mid Contracting and Consulting has reached an important milestone, following the government’s ruling which aims to develop the UK construction industry into an efficient and technologically advanced industry.
The government’s mandate also maintains a focus on research and development, as well as grow its marketable skill-sets that can be sold internationally.
BIM is also an important tool in Mid Group’s approach to offsite construction, where all elements are designed in 3 dimensions, as a minimum.
Stephen Chudley, Design Management and BIM Lead for Mid Group said: “As a contractor that is utilising BIM on all of our projects, BIM Level 2 accreditation is an important recognition of the quality of the processes and procedures that we utilise.”
Andrew Shepherd, Deputy Group CEO of the Mid Group said: “Mid Contracting and Consulting’s BIM Level 2 accreditation is an important step for the Mid Group. As an organisation we are committed to the use of off-site construction techniques, which is best facilitated by the use of BIM.”
At the heart of this ambition is the 2025 construction strategy, which aims to reduce the delivery time of projects by 50%, reduce costs by 33% and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% — all set out by the 2011 strategy.
The Mid Group is a dynamic construction, investment & development company, dedicated to providing enhanced value for clients across the UK and Middle East.
